Tairāwhiti - Gisborne is a vibrant city in the north eastern corner of New Zealand.  Tairāwhiti means the coast (tai) where the sun (ra) shines (whiti).

Gisborne District Council owns and manages the War Memorial Theatre, Lawson Field Theatre, as well as the Gisborne Soundshell and Patutahi Community Hall.
