Tairāwhiti - Gisborne is a vibrant city in the north eastern corner of New Zealand.  Tairāwhiti means the coast (tai) where the sun (ra) shines (whiti).

Gisborne District Council owns and manages three theatres, War Memorial Theatre, Lawson Field Theatre, and the Outdoor Theatre (Soundshell) as well as the Patutahi Community Hall.
