WAR MEMORIAL THEATRE

 

The War Memorial Theatre is a state of the art 500-seat theatre in the heart of Gisborne, New Zealand. 

Originally built as a community dance hall, it opened in 1957, was converted into a theatre in 1975, and redeveloped in 2015.

War Memorial Theatre is a Proscenium arch, with raised stage, fly tower, orchestra pit, grand piano and full technical capabilities.  Six well appointed dressing rooms with toilets and showers, and backstage green room with kitchenette.  Loading dock.  Catering kitchen. Fully accessible.

Seats 362 in the Stalls and 138 in the Circle.  Fully air conditioned, with licensed bar.   

The stunning foyer, featuring the "Field of Poppies" ceiling, is available to book for functions and events.
